Lede Family Wines’ Jason Lede Promoted to Director of Communications

Tony Baldini, President and COO of Lede Family Wines is pleased to announce that second-generation vintner Jason Lede has been promoted to Director of Communications.

“Jason has dedicated the past decade to learning the art and business of wine, both inside and outside of Lede Family Wines. In his new role, he will work with his father to build upon the family’s 20-year foundation to help chart the future of the organization, further enhance existing sustainability efforts, and develop new companywide goals and programs. Jason will also continue to publicly represent Lede Family wines and deepen the company’s relationships with trade, media, consumers, employees, and the community,” says Baldini.

Jason was drawn to the wine business shortly after his father founded Cliff Lede Vineyards in 2002. As a teenager, he traded summers at his home in Edmonton, Canada, for work at the winery, where he did everything from counting clusters in the vineyard to analyzing samples in the lab. His decision to pursue a career in wine came after completing his first harvest internship at Cliff Lede Vineyards in 2007.

“I resolved to follow my passion for wine, our family legacy, and broaden my perspective, so I worked with my dad to develop a ten-year plan to achieve that goal,” he says.

This plan included earning a BA in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco, an MBA from the University of Alberta, and an Advanced Wine Certificate from the International Sommelier Guild. To supplement his studies, he worked the 2010 harvest at MollyDooker Wines in Australia, followed by three years in sales at The Wine Cellar, Canada’s first independent wine retailer, importer, and distributor.

Jason officially joined Lede Family Wines in 2015. He spent four years managing wholesale sales across several states, and for the last two years was Hospitality Manager.

“As we approach our 20th anniversary, I am looking forward to taking on this crucial role within our family business to extend our success for the coming generations,” says Jason.

Jason lives with his wife and son in the town of Yountville. Like his father Cliff, he’s an avid music lover, and in his free time can be found DJing at events throughout the Napa Valley.

About Lede Family Wines

Lede Family Wines was established in 2002 when Canadian-born Cliff Lede acquired 60 acres in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, creating Cliff Lede Vineyards. In 2005, Lede opened the adjacent Poetry Inn, the only accommodation in the Stags Leap District. After purchasing the famed Savoy Vineyard in Anderson Valley in 2011 and creating FEL Wines, the company evolved to become Lede Family Wines, integrating Lede’s luxury wine and hospitality businesses.
