Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve Partner with No Kid Hungry for Friendsgiving

To continue the three-year Friendsgiving tradition, Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve today announce a new $50,000 joint donation to No Kid Hungry, a national campaign dedicated to ending childhood hunger. This donation by the Brown Forman Corporation-owned brands can help provide up to 500,000 meals* to kids facing food insecurity in the United States.

Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve first partnered with No Kid Hungry in July 2018, and have since donated a total of $200,000 to the campaign.

“At both Sonoma Cutrer and Woodford Reserve, we are wholeheartedly committed to the communities we call home, whether in our backyards or across the globe,” said Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay Winemaker Cara Morrison. “It is our privilege to work with No Kid Hungry in their ongoing efforts to feed kids without access to the meals they need.”

In the wake of the coronavirus, millions of children in the United States are still facing hunger – as many as 1 in 6 kids this year. No Kid Hungry has a plan to make sure those children are fed, as the crisis continues and in the recovery to follow. Through a combination of emergency grants, strategic assistance, advocacy and awareness, No Kid Hungry is helping kids, families and communities get the resources they need. Since March 2020, No Kid Hungry has provided nearly $99 million to over 2,300 schools and community organizations across all 50 states, DC, Guam and Puerto Rico.

“The past year and a half has proven to us that together we can make a difference”, said Woodford Reserve Assistant Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall. ”We ask our consumers to join us as we stand up for these children and their families, and confidently look to Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve this holiday season.”

“Every kid needs three healthy meals a day to grow up healthy and strong, yet millions are missing those meals,” said Diana Hovey, Senior Vice President at Share Our Strength, the organization behind the No Kid Hungry campaign. “This holiday season we’re grateful to Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve for their ongoing support of and generous donation to No Kid Hungry, to help ensure kids are getting access to those critical meals.”

This holiday season, consumers are invited to join Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve in donating to No Kid Hungry by texting “FRIENDS” to 68405.
