The history of Vigneti Radica began in the 1950s, when Rocco, the head of the family, planted his first vineyard in Tollo, a small town in the province of Chieti, about 150 meters above sea level, between the Adriatic Sea and the Maiella mountain. The family has been dedicated to the cultivation of grapes for three generations.
After Rocco, his son Antonio and now his grandson Giacomo, continue the mission of producing high-quality wines, using only the grapes from their family’s vineyards. Currently, the winery cultivates about 30 hectares, mainly Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Pecorino, Passerina, Trebbiano, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio.
The vineyards of the company are located in three different areas, each one different from the others due to the sun exposure, altitude and composition of the soil. Tollo that has obtained the recognition of the DOCG, Ortona and Fara Filiorum Petri on the slopes of the Maiella. The extraordinary climatic conditions of the region and the mineral characteristics of the soil make this area a terroir particularly suited to the production of wine, as known since the Roman era.
